CREMATION & BURIAL COMMUNICATION & EDUCATION
The Cremation Society of Great Britain and the Federation of Burial and Cremation Authorities held their joint annual Conference at the Winter Gardens, Blackpool from the 24th to 26th June 2024. The event brought together a wide range of experts and keynote speakers, including Huw Twamley, Regional Medical Examiner Northwest who discussed the Medical Examiner System and upcoming reforms in the death certification process. Mustafa Latif-Aramesh, BDB Pitmans, spoke about the authorisation of burial space re-use and Nicole Kenny, Cadent, discussed decarbonising energy-intensive industries including crematoria.
The programme included international representatives from the International Cremation Federation who provided their individual country reports, including Italy, USA & Canada, Australia, Belgium and Latin America, all of which were extremely insightful.
Delegates were treated to an exclusive experience visiting the incredible 4D cinema at the Blackpool Tower finishing with drinks in the iconic ballroom. We were also extremely lucky to have Amy Williams, Olympic gold medallist, close the event banquet with a truly motivating and inspiring talk.
We look forward to welcoming delegates to CBCE in 2025 for another highly successful joint conference.
