Whereas a person has died from smallpox in the urban district of Ogmore and Garw:
And whereas it appears that, if the requirements specified in the Cremation Regulations, 1930, as amended by the Cremation Regulations, 1952, for the cremation of the body of that person or the bodies of other persons dying from smallpox are complied with, other persons may be infected with smallpox:
And whereas the council of the urban district of Ogmore and Garw have applied to the Secretary of State to make an order under Regulations 14 of the Cremation Regulations, 1930, modifying the said Regulations as so amended:
Now, therefore, in pursuance of the powers conferred by Regulation 14 of the Cremation Regulations, 1930, the Secretary of State hereby makes the following order:
1. Notwithstanding anything in the Cremation Regulations, 1930, as amended by the Cremation Regulations, 1952, a medical referee may permit the cremation of the body of a person who has died in the Urban District of Ogmore and Garw if the medical officer of health of that district certifies that that person has died from smallpox.
2. This Order shall cease to have effect on 9th June, 1962.
